Team
Team is who works in this workspace and what each person can do. The top line counts people and invites ("4 people and 1 invite"), and says who approves ("Approvals go to Ivo, then Maya"), with the way to Settings → Approvals.
Inviting people
Choose Invite people, type one or more email addresses (separate several with commas or new lines), and pick a role. Each card has a line on what that role does.
They get an email with a sign-in link, and join when they sign in with that address. Until then the invite shows when it went out, with Resend and Withdraw. Withdrawing means signing in with that address won't join the workspace; you can invite it again later.
Invitations count toward your plan's people, as everyone who signs in does. Clients who approve from a link never count. If an invite would go past your plan, Release Social asks first and shows the price of an extra person where your plan has one.
People
Each person shows their name and email, their role (change it from the menu beside it), an Approver badge with their place in the order if they approve, and when they were last here ("Active 5m ago").
On a phone, the list shows each person's name, what matters most about them ("You · Approver 2", or when they were last here) and their role. Tap a person to open their page: their role (change it there), what it lets them do, their place in the approval order, and Remove, Resend and Withdraw, or Leave this workspace on your own page.
Roles
Every role is a set of five abilities:
- Write posts: create and edit posts, and use the Library.
- Post: schedule, queue and post approved posts.
- Approve: approve, or ask for changes.
- Channels: connect and disconnect channels.
- Team: invite people, change roles, and the workspace's settings.
The built-in roles:
- Owner: everything, plus billing and deleting the workspace.
- Admin: runs the workspace day to day: everything except billing and deleting it.
- Editor: writes and schedules posts (Write posts and Post).
- Reviewer: approves posts.
Roles change at once, in the app and through the API. Screens hide what a role can't do and say who can; the person can ask them from there.
Custom roles
An owner can make roles of their own from Roles on Team: a name, an optional description of up to 80 characters ("For Brightside, our agency"), the five abilities as switches, and a sentence on what the mix means, for example "People with this role can write and approve, but a post still needs someone who can Post to schedule it." The page lists who has the role. Team shows the description under the role's name; without one, it says what the role can do ("Writes and approves").
Custom roles come with Agency and Enterprise. On a smaller plan, people keep the custom roles they have, but no role is made, changed or given.
A custom role can't be deleted while someone has it; the page names them, so you can give them another role first.
Removing someone, or leaving
Remove from a person's menu asks first. They lose access to this workspace at once; what they wrote stays.
Leave this workspace is at the end of the list of people on Team. You can't leave, and no one can remove you, while you are the only owner or a named approver; the screen says what to change first, and opens Settings → Approvals where needed.
