Getting started

Release Social is where a team writes a post once, gets a yes on it, and sends it to every network at the right time. Nothing goes out until someone who may approve it says yes.

Signing in

There is no password. You sign in with a link we email you.

  1. Type your Work email and choose Email me a sign-in link. Pressing Enter does the same.
  2. Open the email and choose the link. It works once, for 20 minutes.
  3. If your workspace asks for a second step, type the code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes.

On Check your email there is a button that opens Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo or iCloud Mail when your address is one of theirs. Send another link sends a fresh one, and Use a different email starts again. You can ask for 5 links in 15 minutes; after that, wait a little.

If your company signs in through its own identity provider, choose Continue with single sign-on. It needs your work email to find your company's sign-in page.

New here? The same link creates your workspace. You start with a 14-day free trial; nothing is charged until you choose a plan.

Guided setup

A new workspace opens on five short steps, one decision each. Every step can be skipped and done later.

  1. Name your workspace, and check its time zone. Schedules, the Plan and every time you see use it.
  2. Who is Release Social for? Just me, My team or My clients. My clients also turns on the calendar link you can share with a client.
  3. Connect your first channel. You sign in on the network's own page, then come back to setup.
  4. Who approves your posts? You, or someone you invite by email as a reviewer.
  5. Your first post, from a starter. If you approve your own posts it is approved and scheduled; if someone else approves, it is sent to them; with no channel yet it is kept as a draft.

You're all set lists what was set up and what still waits. If you leave in the middle, setup opens again from Home at the first step that isn't done.

Home

Home answers three questions, in this order, in your workspace's time zone.

  • Needs you: posts waiting for your approval, posts that didn't post in the last week (with Fix), and channels that need you to sign in again. When there is nothing, it says you're all caught up.
  • Up next: the next five scheduled posts, and the next open queue time.
  • This week: people reached and engagement against last week, the change in followers, and your top post.

Typing in the box at the top of Home opens Create with your words in it.

Until setup is done, Get started lists what's left: connect a channel, choose who approves, make the first post, invite the team and set queue times. Each step ticks itself when it's done. Hide keeps it hidden on all your devices.

Finding your way

On a computer the sidebar holds everything: your workspace at the top, Create, then Home, Plan, Inbox and Insights, then Library, Channels and Team, and at the bottom Settings, Help and you. On a tablet the sidebar becomes a narrow rail of icons. On a phone a bar at the bottom has Home, Plan, Create in the middle, Inbox and Insights; the rest is under your picture at the top.

Search (⌘K on a Mac, Ctrl+K elsewhere) finds places, settings, posts, people, channels and help topics. Start with > to see only actions, such as a new post, inviting someone, or switching to Dark.

Keyboard shortcuts:

  • ⌘K or Ctrl+K: search and jump.
  • ⌘N or Ctrl+N: a new post, where your browser lets it through. The Create button always works.
  • ⌘↵ or Ctrl+Enter: the main action of the open sheet, such as asking for approval.
  • Esc: close what is open.
  • ↑ ↓ and ↵: move in a list and open what is chosen.
  • ?: every shortcut.

Several workspaces

One email can belong to several workspaces, for example one per brand or client. Each has its own channels, people, posts and settings. Switch from the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar; New workspace opens another one that you own. Your theme, language, two-factor sign-in and daily email are yours in every workspace.

Your plan

The trial lasts 14 days. To choose a plan, go to Settings → General and open the plan line, or use the trial banner. Plans are monthly or yearly, and the price shows before VAT with your total under it.

When the trial ends without a plan, nothing more is posted or scheduled. Everything you made stays, and you can still read, write and plan.

Each plan counts people, channels and workspaces, never posts. When adding someone or something would go past your plan, Release Social asks first: it shows the price of an extra person or workspace where your plan has one, or names the plan with room.

If a payment doesn't go through, nothing changes for seven days. Owners and admins see a banner with Update payment method, and from the fifth day it names the day posting pauses. If it isn't paid by the seventh day, posting pauses until it is. Posts whose time passed during the pause are never sent late on their own: they wait on Posting is back on, where you post them now or pick a new time.

Settings and Your account

Settings holds the workspace's settings; owners and admins change them. Each page saves as you go, with a quiet "Saved".

  • General: the name and time zone, the logo on your PDF reports and, with Agency and up, on your clients' pages (PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP under 2 MB, picked from Library), and your plan.
  • Approvals: who approves and in what order, reminders, and client approval links. See Approvals.
  • Publishing: Help me write (tidy-up, or Claude with your own Anthropic key), and your blog's feed: new entries become drafts. Check feed tries it now.
  • Notifications: Slack, and who gets emails. See Inbox.
  • Integrations: API keys and the webhook, for other tools. See Your data.
  • Security: single sign-on and the latest audit events. See Security.
  • Data: export, how long history is kept, and deleting the workspace. See Your data.

Your account is yours, in every workspace: your name, your language (English or Български), Light, Dark or System (System follows your device), the daily summary email, your second sign-in step, signing out other devices, your workspaces, Sign out, and deleting your account.
